I recently painted a little series of grumpy birds - each expressing different little facial expressions. The Blue Grey Gnatcatcher is a little bird that has a dark marking above its eyes that closely resembles a unibrow. This makes them look quite grumpy in many of their photos! This series was painted during the first trimester of my second pregnancy, and definitely depicts some of the emotions I had been feeling at the time.
